Year 6 Transition Information

As a school we are very proud of the work we do to ensure that transition to Ripley Academy is as smooth as possible. We have close working relationships with all our feeder schools and work closely with them to make transition as stress free as possible.
We run a range of transition events throughout the year, these include:

Years 5 – One full day at The Ripley Academy in the summer term focusing on STEM activities.
Year 6 – Two full days at The Ripley Academy in the summer term plus parents event prior to the days.

Unfortunately, we are unable to proceed with transition days for Year 5 and 6 students this summer due to the current government restrictions. Year 6 parents/carers will receive a variety of communication during the next few weeks with further information to aide the transition of your child. Please see attachments below for letters sent and transition activities that can be completed by Year 6 students

Parents are also welcome to book an appointment to accompany a member of the senior leadership team on a school learning walk on any point during the school year.

Students with special educational needs will have an enhanced transition programme developed with the feeder school and Mrs Maycock (Head of SEND) which will be arranged for the final summer term.
